If you would prefer a 1 day tour to Mont St Michel with a pickup and dropoff at Rennes, the cost is $295 per person for the day. Please arrange for an early train or plane from Paris and we will collect you at Rennes International airport or railway station anddrive you to the abbey at Mont St Michel. We will then give you a short tour of the towns fortifications, where you can enjoy spectacular views across the Bay of Mont St Michel. After lunch you will enjoy a tour of the famous abbey itself, where you will be immersed in the history of Europes most famous abbey. In the afternoon we will return you to Rennes in time for your connections.

! : We pick you up in Rennes (am or pm) and drive you to Mont st Michel where you will have plenty of time to enjoy the splendour of this incredible World famous site. We will guide you around the towns walls and through the abbey perched on top of this amazing island. You will get to spend the night in a hotel on the ancient walls looking out over the bay. After breakfast the next morning, if time permits, we will take you up to a working windmill or a superb cider tasting. This is a great short break and we will help you maximise the time that you have in Normandy. Hotels and meals are not included but we will help you select accomodation if required.

2 : Now imagine a place of mystery and legend....Carnac ! We pick you up in Rennes or Nantes (am or pm) and drive you to another UNESCO site on the southern shore of Brittany in France, where you can stroll through avenues of standing stones, that were erected, perhaps, 7000 years ago. In Brittany you will find the worlds largest concentration of neolithic and megalithic remains. Carnac and its 3000 stones are amazing and the most impressive. The stone alignments encroach into the edge of the village of Carnac where you will be able to spend a lovely evening chatting about the days adventures and enjoying a meal. In the morning we will drive you to the beautiful port town of Vannes where you will have the opportunity to stroll around the old city walls and enjoy a cup of espresso or a crepe. Hotels and meals are not included but we will help you select accomodation if required.

3 : Another place that could be on your wishlist, whilst enjoying your personal guided vacation of France are Normandys WW11 beaches. Afoot In France picks you up in Rennes. We will drive you (using one of our air conditioned minibuses) through many of the most important sites of the 20th century, jointly called the D Day Beaches in Normandy. Visit St Mer Eglise and the US landing beaches of Omaha and Utah. We will guide you along the entire stretch of beach that composed the US landing zone, where you will get to visit Pointe Du Hoc, the new museum on Utah Beach, the Longue Sur Mer Battery and of course the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach. Hotels and meals are not included but we will help you select accomodation if required.

Returning Home ~ A Great Adventure Several months after starting out on our epic and life changing trip, we found ourselves once again in a cross channel ferry port awaiting embarkation... this time back to England. Our Afrique sign (used for 'thumbing' lifts as hitchhikers) was discarded long ago, because it had taken us across Europe into North Africa. A piece of cardboard that we had used to get us home...a simple Union flag painted onto it... had gotten us back to Le Havre. Much wiser and somehow, many years older, we patted each other on the back as we boarded for the crossing. We got into Portsmouth Harbour, very late at night, but being the hardened travellers that we had become, we were not phased by the prospect of sleeping in a bus shelter or perhaps in one of the fortress towers that encompass part of the town....all was good... we had after all just arrived home.
